- Bom Sucesso Resort
Located in Óbidos, not far north of Lisbon on the banks of a lagoon with striking inland and sea views, Bom Sucesso offers not just an 18-hole Championship golf course but 601 houses in an eye-catching array of architectural styles.
The project, recognised by the Portuguese government as a “Project of National Interest”, involved 23 Masters of Contemporary Architecture to create an innovative and unique luxury tourist resort where modern architecture merges into the natural beauty of the Óbidos lagoon.
The Donald Steel-designed 18-hole layout extends along on a rugged slope and is populated by dense Mediterranean vegetation with scores of exotic species. Hundreds of olive trees were planted, combined with azaleas and magnolias framing the course.
A five star hotel is under development, complete with an extensive range of leisure facilities and services including a luxury spa.
